ZEN. We all have heard of ZEN yet most of us are still unaware what ZEN really is. The word ZEN brings up a kind of instinctual knowing of what it is but it is so illusive and wrapped in mystery it is difficult to get passed that and truly get to the essence of ZEN. ZEN is an offshoot of the Buddhist school of thought but it differs from Buddhism because it is not a religion which makes it all inclusive and less dogmatic. Actually there is no dogma in ZEN except pay attention lol. This video is a GOOGLE TECH TALK, which actually is an amazing series, a lecture given by James Austin on the technical aspects of ZEN and how ZEN practices and meditations influence the way the brain operates and perceives reality. For anyone interested in psychology, philosophy, and quantum physics than this video will be a lasting resource as it dives deep into the mechanics of our brain and demonstrates how the brain through its structure processes external and internal stimuli, the same stimuli in which we base our life experience. As ZEN is becoming more popular this information which is all science based will help the student dive deeper in the practice and also accelerate the student in in his or her own introspections. But with ZEN it is not attained with intellectual effort only one must be ZEN which surpasses all outside knowledge and can only be realized when one looks within.
